GANS Community Project Grant
Up to $50,000 in one-year project funding to address unmet needs and gaps in services, awareness and/or knowledge within a framework of preventing or reducing gambling-related harm among individuals, families and communities in Nova Scotia.
GANS Research Grant
Up to $150,000 in funding to assist researchers develop new or grow programs of research focusing on the prevention or reduction of gambling-related harms among individuals, families and communities in Nova Scotia.
In 1998, Gambling Awareness Nova Scotia (GANS-formerly the Nova Scotia Gaming Foundation) was formed as a not-for-profit, arms-length government organization for the purpose of receiving and distributing funds that would support communities to reduce the harmful effects of gambling. These funds are generated from a percentage of VLT revenues, matched by the Nova Scotia Provincial Lotteries and Casino Corporation (NSPLCC).
