Research Nova Scotia continues to explore opportunities with its partners to address COVID-19. Partnerships with Canadian Institutes of Health Research (CIHR), the Nova Scotia COVID-19 Health Research CoalitionGenome Atlantic, and others, have enabled our researchers to conduct ground-breaking research in the areas of vaccines and therapeutics, diagnostics, epidemiology, fundamental science, social and behavioural sciences, public health, and more. Nova Scotia COVID-19 Health Research Coalition

In April, a total of 262 applications were submitted from research teams across the province. The Coalition announced that a collective investment of over $1.5 million would be distributed to 40 COVID-19 research teams.

COVID-19 Rapid Response

In partnership with Canadian Institutes of Health Research (CIHR) and other partners, Research Nova Scotia continues to provide rapid response funding from its Research Opportunities Fund.
