The Peer Review Observer Program is a Competitive Edge Initiative session which gives students and early career researchers the opportunity to attend a review committee meeting and learn more about the process and what reviewers expect in a research funding application.

This year’s program will allow participants to virtually observe the New Health Investigator Grant Health Policy and Services peer review committee meeting(s) taking place on the afternoons of November 15, 17 and 27.

The first step for participating in the Peer Review Observer Program is to complete the registration form linked below. After submitting the form, you will be contacted with next steps.

Registration deadline: November 3, 2023

Please note: if you are an applicant or a team member of any of the 2023-24 New Health Investigator Grant applications, you are NOT eligible to observe the peer review process.

“I participated as an observer in this helpful program last year. I recommend it to other early career researchers and students who are interested in gaining firsthand insights on research grant application peer-review processes!”

– Jessica Mannette, Research Coordinator at Mount Saint Vincent University.

On behalf of Research Nova Scotia, thank you for your interest in participating as a Peer Review Observer.
