Fourteen students and early-career researchers will pitch their innovative ideas in three minutes on September 14, 2026
HALIFAX, NS – AUGUST 17, 2026 – Falling Walls Lab Atlantic Canada, hosted by Research Nova Scotia and supported by the Atlantic Canada Opportunities Agency (ACOA), will take place on September 14, 2026 at 6:00 p.m. at the Halifax Central Library’s Paul O’Regan Hall.
The event will feature 14 finalists from among 24 applicant students, early-career researchers and innovators, to present their breakthrough ideas each in a dynamic three-minute pitch in front of distinguished judges, peers and the public.
ABOUT FALLING WALLS LAB
Falling Walls Lab is a global pitch competition that brings together an interdisciplinary pool of students and early-career professionals. It offers a unique platform to present groundbreaking research, business models, and innovative ideas from all fields in concise three-minute pitches. Each year, leading academic institutions around the world host Falling Walls Labs, spotlighting the talent, diversity and creativity of their region’s most promising minds.
The winner of Falling Walls Lab Atlantic Canada will represent their city and country in Berlin as one of 100 selected finalists worldwide at Falling Walls Science Summit, which takes place November 6 – 9, 2026.
In 2025 Falling Walls Lab received more than 2,800 applications for its 82 Labs across 60 countries, highlighting the initiative’s global reach and impact. Falling Walls Lab is organized by the Falling Walls Foundation and supported by the Museum für Naturkunde Berlin, German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) and Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG).
