Research Nova Scotia (RNS) has invited six Opportunity Space applicants to submit full proposals through the Focused Research Investments (FRI) program.
Opportunity Spaces are the sector-level challenge(s) limiting economic growth, where research is needed to advance solutions. In June, RNS launched the call for proposals and 27 were received.

Full proposals are due on November 10, 2026 and RNS plans to complete the review process in early 2027.
FRI supports large-scale, longer-term research initiatives valued at $1 million to $5 million per project over two to five years. A total of $6 million is available for this funding round.
